Walking between Brava’s villages

Best forWalkers who like a village at both ends of the path

Brava is small enough that a walk between villages is the natural day. The hills are not small. Nova Sintra to the ridges, or down toward Fajã de Água, will take the morning and the knees you came with.

Practical

Start early, carry water, and accept a lift back if a truck passes and you are done. Paths are used by people going to a field, not only by visitors, so keep to the obvious track. Cloud can sit on the top even when Furna is in sun.

Nossa Senhora do Monte and the lanes around Nova Sintra are the gentler version. Fajã is the version with a coast at the bottom and a climb home.
