Maio is the island people forget. Vila do Maio (Porto Inglês) has a Portuguese fort, a salt pan, and a twenty-minute paseo. The beach in front of town is the daily swim. Morrinho and the east are emptier.
Getting there
Domestic flights from Praia, not every day. The ferry exists when it exists. Book the guesthouse before you fly.
