Santa Luzia is a reserve, not a resort

Santa Luzia sits between São Vicente and São Nicolau and has no resident population. It is a nature reserve. There is no guesthouse, no taxi and no ferry timetable you can trust from a hotel desk.

What that means

You do not “add it to the island hop” the way you add Maio. Landings, when they happen, are arranged with people who already have permission and a reason — research, a patrol, a rare organised visit. Birds, a dry coast and the absence of a town are the point.

If a listing or a boatman offers a casual picnic with no mention of the reserve, treat it as a rumour. Watch the island from Mindelo or from the channel. That view is available. A beach club is not.
