Best forA weekend away from Praia
Tarrafal’s bay is the pretty north. The Salazar-era prison camp is now a museum — go. Serra Malagueta and Pico de Antónia are the hikes. Assomada is the interior market, best Wednesday or Saturday.
Getting there
Aluguers from Sucupira. Do not cut it tight with an international flight the same afternoon.
